Excel Beyond the Bell Out-of-School Time Collaborative


The Montgomery County Collaboration Council for Children, Youth and Families, Inc. is accepting applications for an Assistant for the Excel Beyond the Bell, Out-of-School Time Collaborative.

The Assistant position is focused on Excel Beyond the Bell's professional development and evaluation activities. The ultimate goal of this position is developing, achieving and maintaining the best possible quality out-of-school time programs in Montgomery County through a dynamic professional development and assessment system. The Assistant will report to the Excel Beyond the Bell Manager and work closely with the Director of Data and Research.

This is a full-time, entry level position with benefits.


Primary Responsibilities

Coordinating Professional Development Opportunities
  • Manage an online learning system for youth development professionals, including tracking its use and creating reports
  • Continually update a growing list of resources, webinars and training opportunities for all after school program practitioners in the field
  • Maintain the professional development section of the Excel Beyond the Bell website
  • Manage the logistics and site preparation for in-person trainings
  • Assist our local collaboration with the development of a variety of county-wide opportunities for youth development practitioners, including a college credentialing system, digital badging, and defining and implementing core competencies for the field
Organizing Data Collection and Evaluation
  • Assist in the design and execution of evaluation for the middle school program and professional development opportunities for youth development professionals
  • Collaborate with the Montgomery County Recreation Department to manage the daily data collection systems at all EBB middle school sites and ensure proper execution
  • Assist with the administration of survey tools for the middle school program and professional development system, including distribution and data entry
  • Monitor the accuracy of database entries
  • Assist with the production of evaluation reports

Working Conditions
  • Travel is required, frequently within the county and occasionally within the state.
  • Program site visits and trainings require occasional evening and weekend hours.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable personal vehicle is required.
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds.

Qualifications
Experience and Education
  • Bachelors or Associates degree required
  • Professional experience in data entry and creating written reports preferred
Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office and social media tools
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and manage multiple assignments
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills
