Georgetown Program Assistant Position for Recent Grad


Georgetown University’s Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service (BSFS) Program is hiring a Program Assistant. Reporting to the Associate Dean and Deputy Director of BSFS, the Program provides essential program and administrative support to the BSFS program.  Duties include but are not limited to:
Recording and academic program
§ Posts transfer credit in Banner (student information system), including study abroad, summer school, and pre-GU college credit to student electronic records.
§ Updates matriculation changes to student records in Banner, including change of major, classification, graduation date, faculty mentor, and catalog year.
§ Adds course attributes in Banner.
§ Maintain in-house training guides for recording tasks in Banner for all routine processes, including posting of transfer credits, matriculation changes, and common report types.
§ Maintains transfer credit equivalency charts for advanced placement and 13th year programs.
§ Maintains all student files, including records of termination, matriculation, grade changes, language proficiency exams, and study-abroad transcripts.
§ Purges graduating student files in preparation for registrar archiving.
§ Manages conflict exams.
§ Distributes results of language proficiency exams to deans and students.
§ Coordinates the placement exam and the proctoring of the final exam for the required course, Map of the Modern World. 
§ Assists with the production of the commencement book and diploma order, and other graduation-related activities.
General administrative
§ Provides assistance in scheduling and for activities related to events and meetings.
§ Assists in document production.
§ Provides support for the Associate and Assistant Deans as assigned.
§ Masters and upholds university regulations, advising program directors, faculty, and other senior staff on appropriate courses of action in accordance with regulations.
Requirements
§ Bachelor’s degree.
§ Experience in administrative support, academic records management, budget reconciliation, and event planning.
§ Proficiency in Banner, MS Office Suite, electronic calendars, and e-mail.
§ Commitment to professionalism and client-service orientation.
§ Ability to exercise leadership in all areas of responsibility of the position.
