Arab American Institute Communications, Policy, and Programs Internships


DESCRIPTION
Communications Intern (1 spot available): Supports the Communications Department with online, email, and social media communications as well as website maintenance. Responsibilities include writing, posting and formatting blogs, creating e-blasts, and assisting with press outreach.

Policy Intern (1 spot available): Works closely in consultation with senior staff to conduct outreach to Capitol Hill, government agencies, and coalition partners. Responsibilities include researching pertinent legislation, drafting issue briefs and policy statements, planning Congressional briefings, and assisting in the production of AAI's political publications.

Programs Intern (1 spot available): Supports the Programs Department with logistical, programmatic and communications projects. Responsible in assisting all aspects of planning for the Gibran Gala and Generations program. Responsibilities include writing blog posts, marketing, organizational planning and logistics.


Please note:

The AAI internship program is very competitive. Interns must be available to start their internships onMonday, September 12, 2016 and commit to 10-12 weeks of consecutive work. Applicants who are not able to fulfill these requirements will still be considered, but are not guaranteed acceptance into the program. Preference for Summer internships will be given to those who are available for full-time placement and eligible for college credit. Those not eligible for college credit are allocated a stipend of up to $1,000 per month, based on hours. Interns receive EITHER college credit OR a stipend. Applicants must either be U.S. citizens or permitted to work in the U.S.
