Internship with US Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS)


As an intern, you will be assigned to the National Training and Emergency Operations Branch (NTEOB). You will be assigned tasks designed to familiarize you with different aspects of the occupation. This is an unpaid internship position for any Business Administration or similar major student who would like to build their resume specifically related to the federal government. Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Assisting in a variety of administrative and support type duties in such areas as administration, travel, training, files management, property accountability, and reports. 
  • Maintaining office records. 
  • Utilizing office automation software such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc. 
  • Participating with professional staff in the development and analysis of research, documents and data required by managers.
  • Compiling and verifiing a variety of statistical, financial and technical data needed for analysis and required reports. May design and produce organizational and workflow charts using graphic design software, based on information provided by higher level employees.
  • Assisting in planning and organizing actions necessary to accomplish short-and-long range program goals.
  • Working closely with supervisor and other staff members to develop resolutions of problems/issues and makes basic recommendations.
  • Performing a broad range of duties using various computer software programs to perform such operations as updating, revising, sorting, calculating, and manipulating data in spreadsheets.
