NO TICKETS ARE NEEDED FOR THE CCJS CEREMONY LATER IN THE AFTERNOON.
Spring Commencement activities will be held on May 22 and
23, 2014. The President will confer
degrees at the campus-wide Commencement ceremony, which will begin at 10:00 am
on Thursday, May 22, in the Comcast Center, and will last approximately one and
a half hours. Individual ceremonies will
be held throughout the campus on Thursday afternoon and Friday.
As you make your plans to participate in these ceremonies
to honor our graduates, I would like to remind you of several pertinent
matters.
There will be a full processional at the campus-wide
Commencement ceremony in Comcast beginning at 9:20 am. All seats for students, faculty, and staff
participating in the procession will be provided on the floor in front of the
platform. The faculty and staff are
asked to assemble in academic regalia in Room 0601, The Pavilion, on the ground
floor of Comcast starting at 9:00 am in order to follow the students in the
processional promptly at 9:20 am. The
faculty and staff, in academic regalia, may enter Comcast by using Gate C
(lower level entrance located to the right of the large staircase in front of
Comcast). A Terp Host and a volunteer
will be located at the door to direct you to the Pavilion. Coats, purses and other possessions may be
left safely in the robing room during the ceremony, but I ask that you use your
judgment when leaving any articles of value.
Special arrangements can be made for the participation of
individuals with disabilities by contacting the Office of Special Events at
campus extension 54638.
For the campus-wide ceremony, you may park in one of the
surface lots or the parking garage adjacent to the Comcast Center without a
special permit.
Parking on campus for the Thursday afternoon and Friday
ceremonies will be free and no special permits are required.
Please encourage students to attend the full range of
Commencement events: the campus-wide
ceremony on Thursday morning, as well as their individual school or college
ceremony on Thursday afternoon or Friday.
Doctoral students who are participating in the ceremonies
should be reminded that they must purchase the doctoral hood at the bookstore
and bring it to their respective graduations for the hooding ceremony.
