Investigations Internship with HHS OIG - Fall 2014 The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is offering an internship with their Office of Inspector General (OIG) for the Fall 2014 semester. HHS OIG consist of six component offices.  The Office of Investigations (OI) is responsible for conducting and coordinating investigative activities related to fraud, waste and abuse in over 300 HHS programs.  OI investigates Medicate and Medicaid fraud, child support enforcement matters, potential illegal activities, and mismanagement of applications, grantees, contractors, or HHS employees in the performance of official duties.  Investigations often result in criminal, civil, or administrative action.
