The National
Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace (NSTIC) National
Program Office (NPO) intern will assist NSTIC staff with communications,
policy, and other weekly tasks including: media tracking and monitoring,
analytics analyses for social media communication publications, assistance
with the development of content for internal and external publications,
recording meeting minutes, and the editing of documents prior to
dissemination. The part-time intern will attend communication and policy
meetings and will have the opportunity to work alongside experts in the
identity management field to get hands-on professional experience for the
future.
Candidates should be available to work 10 hours per week
(on-site at the Department of Commerce in Washington, DC). Candidates should
also currently be enrolled in a Communication, Policy, Political
Science or Journalism program (or related field) as an undergraduate
student and should have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Juniors
and Seniors are strongly encouraged to apply. This is a paid internship.
Hourly pay will be discussed with candidates selected for an interview.
Candidates must be well organized, have the ability to work
collaboratively and think critically, and should have strong writing skills.
Experience with the Microsoft product suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
is required. Prior experience writing for professional publications and
graphic design experience is a plus.
