Keep Clam & Proofread at USG Grammar Day!
All USG students, faculty, and staff are invited to USG’s fifth annual USG Grammar Day on Tues., March 7th. Join us, eat some treats, win swag, and have fun with the English language and all its rules and quirks!
· From 12-2pm, come to the recreation center lounge (above the café) for the Grammar Games, a chance to compete to win prizes by using your grammar knowledge.
· From 11:30-1:15pm, CAS will present a Workshop Blitz in Bldg. III, Rm. 2230. CAS will offer four 15-minute long workshops, covering the following topics:
11:30: It’s Just a Phrase: Effective Phrasing
12:00: Gotta Catch’em All: Self-Editing Strategies
12:30: “Their, there, its alright”: Commonly Confused Words
1:00: Sentences and Sensibility: Writing Strong Sentences
· From 5-6:00pm, catch our tabling activities again with Grammar After Dark. Look for us in buildings 1,2, and 3!
Feel free to attend one, two, or all of the events, and enjoy some sweet treats to sweeten your syntax! We will also have raffles for Grammar Day t-shirts, mugs, and other fun grammar-related items.
