We are seeking an intern in our Washington, DC (Georgetown) office.
Responsibilities: The intern will gain hands-on research experience to complement his/her academic coursework. The intern will provide technical and research support on several large-scale international studies, for example, the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) and the Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS). Responsibilities will primarily include researching topics pertaining to comparative and international education; assisting with data analysis; conducting data quality checks; preparing and reviewing data tables, figures, and data documentation; assisting with writing and reviewing research papers and statistical reports; revising manuscripts in response to editorial and technical comments; preparing products for release based on detailed publication standards; assisting with website updates; and developing presentations for professional audiences.
Qualifications: This position requires the candidates to be seeking a bachelor's or master’s degree in education, economics, statistics, public policy, psychology,sociology, or a related field, and basic research experience. An outstanding academic record, excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and proficiency within the Microsoft Office environment required. Our desired candidate will be familiar with quantitative research methods and data analysis; be comfortable reviewing and producing data tables; possess effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; have excellent organizational and time management skills; and have an interest in education research at the national or international levels. Proficiency in SPSS, Stata, or R a plus.
