The College Consortium for International Studies (CCIS) is an education abroad non-profit organization that facilitates over 100 study abroad programs globally, including internships and volunteer opportunities. CCIS currently has Summer 2018 unpaid internship opportunities (min. 10-15 hours/week) available for upper level undergraduate students and graduate level students. Internship projects will be determined in accordance with the intern’s level of experience and particular area of interest.
The study abroad research intern will use their research skills to identify the best practices and the most relevant information in the education abroad field to help grow CCIS.
-Conduct academic research to identify best practices and the most relevant information in the education abroad field
-Identify engaging and compelling virtual content presentation methods, and develop content based on research
-Conduct research to understand what advisors need to best support students in garnering interest in education abroad, creating follow-through, and finding the right program to create retention
-Develop toolkit with customizable content for two-and four-year institutions related to barriers, support, and practicalities such as courses, internships, volunteer opportunities, and scholarships
-Conduct research to determine current policy and procedure trends related to education abroad financial aid, registrar activities, and student accounts
-Identify the top channels and outlets to monitor to gain a comprehensive understanding of changes and advancements in the education abroad community
-Use the gathered information to develop a toolkit for education abroad professionals that will facilitate students’ access to education abroad at two-and four-year institutions
