Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) is the primary investigative arm of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). With more than 10,000 employees, consisting of 6,700 special agents, who are assigned to more than 200 cities throughout the U.S. and 47 countries around the world, HSI is a key component of the DHS layered defense approach to protecting our nation. HSI’s mission is to conduct criminal investigations that protect the United States against terrorist and other criminal organizations who threaten our safety and national security; to combat transnational criminal enterprises who seek to exploit America’s legitimate trade, travel, and financial systems; and to uphold and enforce America’s customs and immigration laws at and beyond our nation’s borders.
HSI is currently seeking Student Volunteer Interns for Fall 2019.* HSI’s Student Volunteer Program (SVP) provides unpaid training opportunities related to your academic program. Additionally, our program allows you to explore career options as well as develop your personal and professional skills.
As a student volunteer, you will be exposed to the HSI work environment and will learn about the mission and responsibilities of various components and programs. Students are involved in professional projects and work activities related to their academic studies.
