Study Human Trafficking in South Africa!

Join Dr. Stickle this summer in South Africa to study human trafficking! This course will focus on promoting an understanding of human trafficking in an international context, specifically in South Africa. Students participating in this course will focus on the unique challenges caused by corruption and poverty.

Students participating in this course will travel to Cape Town, South Africa after completing preliminary readings, online discussions, and pre-departure orientation. Once in South Africa opportunities will be available for cultural exploration; however, the main focus of the trip will be to participate in lectures, visit relevant historical sites, and visit and volunteer at human trafficking NGO’s. Through the volunteer work, students will gain an understanding of what trafficking looks like in South Africa.
