Are you a UMD recent graduate (December 2017 or May 2017) who wants to submerge yourself in basic job search strategies?  Then this workshop is for you!  Throughout the day you will:
  • discover how to identify your skills, interests and values;
  • learn how to focus your resume;
  • target positions/industries/organizations of interest to you;
  • learn the ins and outs of networking;
  • create a LinkedIn profile.

Volunteer with CASA


Want to make a difference in the life of abused or abandoned children in your community? There are over 500 youth in foster care in Prince George’s County and Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) is looking for compassionate and motivated individuals to advocate for these youth. In about 10 hours a month, CASA volunteers create relationships with youth in foster care to ensure that the court and child welfare systems remain focused on their specific needs and finding a safe permanent home. Apply today for our Winter Training that will be Mondays and Thursdays from 6 to 9pm in Hyattsville, MD beginning January 18th and ending February 15th. Summer Fellowship with IsraAID


IsraAID just opened applications for its summer internship program. IsraAID is a disaster relief and community development organization that is non-governmental, apolitical, and non-religious. 60% of IsraAID's staff come from the local communities they serve, and the remainder are a mix of religious, racial, national, and ethnic backgrounds. The application can be found here.

Interns spend the summer at one of IsraAID's 20 international project sites, including Greece and Berlin (refugee crisis), Nepal (earthquake), Puerto Rico (hurricane), and the Philippines (tsunami-relief). All costs for the summer are covered. This is a great opportunity to gain international experience.

Students from all majors and backgrounds are encouraged to apply. IsraAID project areas include Mental Health and Psychosocial Support; Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene; Women's Empowerment; Youth Leadership; Art, Dance, and Music Therapy; and Agriculture. Other useful intern skills include writing, communication, marketing, graphic design, and administrative skills.
