Deadline to Apply to CCJS Honors Program - July 1

The deadline to apply to the CCJS Honors Program is quickly approaching!  All applications must be received by 4:00PM on Tuesday, July 1, 2014.  The CCJS Honors Program is a unique opportunity for undergraduate CCJS majors to challenge themselves academically.  The Honors Program is comprised of small, interactive and rigorous courses taught by Dr. Thomas Loughran.  CCJS Departmental Honors courses are structured to enhance a student’s analytical skills, research capability, critical thinking, and writing ability.
Students who participate in our Honors Program experience the following benefits:
§ Smaller, discussion-based classes with no more than 20 students
§ One-on-one interaction with CCJS tenured faculty members
§ Ability to conduct independent research on a topic of your interest in the criminal justice field
§ Ability to develop and write your own thesis/research proposal and orally defend it to a committee of faculty and graduate students
§ A chance to stand out amongst roughly 850 other CCJS students when applying to internships, jobs, grad school, or law school

And these bullet points are just a few examples of the MANY benefits that follow from participating in our Honors Program.  Students graduating from our Honors Program receive an Honors citation on their diplomas/transcripts, and have the opportunity to add a very unique experience to their resumes.
