Intern for a Day

Intern for a Day Intern for a Day connects undergraduate students with host sites for a one day internship/shadowing experiences.  This semester, we have 150 hosts from a wide variety of fields and industries.  The goal of Intern for a Day is to help students clarify career interests and explore the world of work. The majority of Intern for a Day hosts are open to ALL majors, but here are some shadowing experiences that may be of particular interest to BSOS students: ·         Bread for the City ·         Bridgewater Wealth & Financial Management ·         Cashell Elementary: Speech-Language Pathologist ·         DISH Network (in-house attorney) ·         Environmental Economics ·         FDA/Center for Veterinary Medicine/Division of Compliance ·         Maryland Hospitals for a Health Environment (MD H2E) ·         Montgomery County Police Department ·         NASA           ·         National Association of Attorneys General ·         National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) ·         Northwestern Mutual ·         Prince George’s County Police Department ·         University of Maryland Medical Center (audiologist) ·         US Department of Justice         ·         US Department of State         ·         US Environmental Protection Agency – National Center for ·         US Environmental Protection Agency Chesapeake Bay Office ·         View all 150 organizations at www.Careers.umd.edu/InternForADay In order to be considered for Intern for a Day, each student must attend a short, 30-minute orientation session in the University Career Center & The President’s Promise: ·         Thursday, Feb. 12, 4 - 4:30 pm ·         Tuesday, Feb. 17, 12 - 12:30 pm ·         Monday, Feb. 23: 12 - 12:30 pm Apply today through www.Careers.umd.edu/InternForADay!  It is highly recommended that students thoroughly read through the list of hosts (and keep an open mind!) before applying to the program.
