Analyst
The
D.C. Sentencing and Criminal Code Revision Commission is seeking a Research
Analyst to assist in managing and evaluating felony sentencing data, as well as
examining trends related to sentencing practices in the District of Columbia.
The Research Analyst will perform sentencing research under the supervision of
the agency’s Executive Director and Statistician; specifically, developing
research plans, collecting and preparing appropriate data, and providing oral
and written presentations. He or she will also provide subject-matter expertise in
the areas of statistical procedures, criminal justice policy, and research
design.
The
ideal candidate will possess a social science Bachelor’s degree from an
accredited university or college, plus a minimum of four (4) years of
work-related skill and knowledge; or an equivalent combination of education
and/or experience.
Applicant should be proficient in database management, and have practical
experience with quantitative statistics using a statistical software package
(preferably SPSS). Familiarity with criminal justice policies and procedures is
preferred. Candidates should have strong written and oral communication skills.
