Program Coordinator, Energy and National Security Program Position at CSIS for Recent Grad


The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a non-profit, bipartisan public policy organization established in 1962 to provide strategic insights and practical policy solutions to decisionmakers concerned with global security and prosperity. Over the years, it has grown to be one of the largest organizations of its kind, with a staff of some 200 employees, including more than 120 analysts working to address the changing dynamics of international security across the globe.

JOB SUMMARY:
•Manages all program event logistics, including site selection, invitations, speaker requests, media requests, summary reports;
•Drafts to correspondence and responds to inquiries from program stakeholders
•Prepares and distributes development- and outreach-related documents;
•Maintains corporate and program files (e.g., activities, expenses, calendars, conflict areas);
•Maintains program website and related media;
•Serves as point of contact for internal programs, press,  and external contacts;
•Supervises and coordinates intern staff in day-to-day activities;
•Contributes occasionally to the development of the overall program research agenda through data/trend analysis and project research and development as needed.

The Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the successful administration of all aspects of the program. Responsibilities cross all program components, including program organization, event management, outreach, and administrative support.

Required Experience:

•B.A./B.S. required.
•1-2 years related research and administrative experience.
•Ability to work closely and cooperatively with a range of individuals with diverse interests, backgrounds, dispositions, and executive levels.
•Ability to draft concept papers, proposals, business correspondence, etc.
•Must possess strong communication skills including the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from constituency groups, media, governmental entities, and the general public.
•Interest in policy-related research and energy issues.
•Must be computer literate including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and social media and web-based research tools.
