Are you interested in a career in International Development? Join Creative Associates International 2017 internship class and work alongside experts who are addressing some of developments toughest challenges; such as delivering quality education to students in conflict, to stabilizing communities transitioning from crisis to peace.
Through Creative’s International Development Internship, undergraduate and graduate students will gain valuable firsthand experience and insight in this exciting field. The program also provides interns with multiple opportunities for professional development by attending workshops, listening to guest speakers, and other activities.
Working from the fast-paced environment at Creative’s Washington, D.C. headquarters, interns will hone their research skills and explore their academic and professional interests from June 5, 2017 to July 28, 2017.
At the end of the eight-week Internship, participants will present findings from their research projects or other specific deliverables. Winners will receive additional recognition and reward. Past internship projects have included: researching solutions to humanitarian crises in Central America and South Sudan; analyzing land governance in conflict zones; and supporting projects to mitigate electoral conflict and improve security in Tunisia and Burundi.

Competition for Creative’s International Development Internship is substantial, and only 10-14 students will be selected. Those chosen will be placed in their technical area of concentration based on academic interest and merit.

How to Apply
To be considered for Creative’s International Development Internship each applicant must submit the following:
- Resume.
- Most recent transcript.
- Compelling statement of interest, including a statement of academic and research experience; your first and second preference of technical areas of focus; and your willingness to participate in the internship from June 5, 2017 through July 28, 2017.
- Letter of recommendation from an academic source within the international development field.

Eligibility Requirements
Creative’s International Development Internship program seeks current graduate students in relevant fields of study. Rising sophomore, junior, and senior year undergraduates are also encouraged to apply. Studies must be in areas related to international development. Strong candidates will demonstrate an ability to conduct research and write effectively.
Interns must commit to participation for the entire duration of the program (June 5, 2017 through July 28, 2017). Interns will develop an individual or team project, which will be presented to their peers and to a panel of judges.
Compensation
Creative’s International Development Internship program provides a $5,000 (five thousand dollar) stipend to each participant. Additional recognition and reward is given to selected individuals for exceptional contributions.
