Full-time job: Research Project Coordinator


The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) School of Medicine is currently seeking a full-time, contractual with benefits Research Project Coordinator in the Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMGCCC). This position is responsible for maintaining databases used to collect and analyze data, tracking protocols as well as monitoring and evaluating entries in order to maintain compliance with Federal and State regulations, policies and procedures.

This is a contractual position that offers a generous benefits package, including 10 vacation days, 11 personal and holidays, 5 sick days; comprehensive health insurance and supplemental retirement options; and limited tuition remission for employees enrolled at UMB.

Essential Functions:Assists with screening subjects for research studies by reviewing and obtaining source documents for potential participants.
Collects baseline and follow-up data from subjects including verification of eligibility.
Obtains demographic information; may assess for adverse events, obtain concomitant medications and interview subjects for follow-up.
Makes recommendations concerning time saving methods in data collection.
Codes adverse events in accordance with National Cancer Institute (NCI) common toxicity criteria.
Checks validity and accuracy of data ensuring compliance with quality control requirements.
Generates numerous standard computer reports on patient demographics, and other pertinent data as requested. Prepares reports on specific patient populations for investigators requesting data for research papers.
Determines reliability of data sources by evaluating information, determining errors and notifying responsible parties.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Biology, Sociology, Psychology or field of study relating to clinic research.
Experience: Experience in a clinical research setting preferred.
Other: May consider a combination of directly related experience and education.

Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of human subjects research, the regulations and policies surrounding it.
Ability to represent the Cancer Center and its faculty in a professional manner.
Ability to keep patient information confidential, knowledge of HIPPA regulations.
Strong PC skills, ability to use web-based applications and programs.
