"Still Troubled: The Lynching of George, Breonna, Ahmaud, and Tony—A Teach-In"
About the teach-in: This moderated teach-in focuses on the recent killings by police of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and Tony McDade. Panelists will discuss the history of U.S. police lynching of African Americans, current information about these and other recent murders, and organizing actions individuals and communities can take in support of #BlackLivesMatter, #SayTheirNames, and other anti-racist coalitions. What is a teach-in? It's an informal classroom setting where urgent educational information is provided around social issues and events that have risen to capture public attention. The goal of the teach-in is to both provide a forum for informed discussion and to work with the pace of current events by helping to direct confusion, misinformation, disorganized reactions, etc. toward focused and socially just, liberatory outcomes.
