Join Alpha Phi Sigma - Applications Due Feb 18
Alpha Phi Sigma is the National Criminal Justice Honor Society founded in 1942. Alpha Phi Sigma recognizes academic excellence of Undergraduate and Graduate students of Criminal Justice, as well as Juris Doctorate students. The goals of Alpha Phi Sigma are to honor and promote academic excellence, community service, educational leadership and unity.
Membership Requirements:
Membership is open to CCJS majors who have completed at least 40 total credits with at least 12 credits in CCJS courses. Applicants must have completed at least one semester at the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD) and have an established UMD grade point average. Undergraduate Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.20 and a minimum CCJS major grade point average of a 3.20.
To Apply:
Students must submit the application and the application fee to Nicole Jackson. The application fee for the Omega Iota UMD Alpha Phi Sigma chapter is $75.00 ($70 of which goes to the National fee and $5 goes to the local chapter). Students can pay via check (personal is fine), money order, or cash (must be exact change). Checks and money orders must be made payable to Alpha Phi Sigma.

Students should submit the completed application and application fee to CCJS Advising or place in Nicole Jackson's mailbox inside 2220 Lefrak Hall. Applications are processed once at the beginning of the spring semester (due: February 18) and it generally takes a few weeks for students to receive their official membership package.
