The D.C. Criminal Code Reform Commission (CCRC) seeks to hire a social scientist. The CCRC is a small independent agency in the District of Columbia government that provides law and policy analysis and issues reform recommendations to improve District criminal laws. The social scientist will research and provide written and graphical descriptions of relevant literature and criminal justice data, working in coordination with CCRC attorneys.

The social scientist position requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant social science discipline and at least one year of specialized experience. Preferred experience includes: a Master’s degree, J.D., or Ph.D. in a relevant field; expertise with R; a demonstrated ability to produce social science scholarship; and past work within government or in partnership with government stakeholders. The position’s salary range is $62,723 - $94,084, subject to agency budget constraints. New hires must be or become residents of D.C. within 180 days of appointment, however the agency is working remotely during the Covid-19 public health emergency.
