Office of the State's Attorney for Anne Arundel County Paralegal Position for May or Recent Grad
Job Description
The State’s Attorney’s Office is seeking paralegals with excellent time management skills and attention to detail for the new Body Worn Camera Review Unit. Interviews will be scheduled in June for up to seven openings, and start dates will be in July and August.
Essential Duties include but are not limited to:
● Receive, sort and review Body Worn Camera (BWC) footage from local police departments ● Prepare BWC footage for use by Assistant State’s Attorneys at trial and for release as discovery ● Manage, maintain and copy digital files as needed ● Manage internal and external databases ● Track and report weekly, monthly and quarterly statistics
Requirements:
● Must have general computer knowledge, including use of web browsers, screen capture and editing tools
● Must have a working knowledge of discovery rules and the criminal justice system. Experience with the law/legal proceedings advantageous
● Proficient in Microsoft office programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
● Video editing experience is a plus
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
● Strong organization skills and detail oriented
● Ability to learn new computer programs ● Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and other departments ● Spanish fluency is highly preferred
Minimum of a two-year degree in Paralegal Studies or Criminal Justice is required.
Starting salary is $40,000.
