Seeking Summer 2023 Volunteer Coordinator Interns, Remote
The Petey Greene Program supports the academic goals of incarcerated and formerly incarcerated people through high-quality volunteer tutoring programs, while educating volunteers on the injustice manifest in our carceral system. We envision a world in which all incarcerated people have access to high-quality academic programs and we strive to inspire our alumni - both students and tutors - to become advocates, and to take on leadership roles that reimagine the criminal legal system.
The Role: The Petey Greene Program is seeking Volunteer Coordinators to support the implementation of our high school and college bridge programs in the D.C. Region. Volunteer Coordinators will support the Regional Manager or the College Bridge Program Coordinator with the smooth-running of the D.C. programs, from recruitment and onboarding of our volunteer tutors, to managing the coordination of them throughout the semester.
This role provides individuals with the opportunity to develop skills in relationship management, recruitment, guided project management and proficiency using Salesforce, one of the world’s largest CRM platforms. You will be given mentorship and support from our team of expert colleagues at every stage. Furthermore, Petey Greene Program employees have access to a wealth of resources (including reading material, webinars and training opportunities around educational justice and the criminal legal system) and opportunities to engage with like-minded colleagues on these issues during weekly meetings.
