Listed below are May 2015 commencement updates.  If you plan to participate in the May 2015 commencement ceremonies, please take a moment to read through this email.

1.      Campus-wide Commencement Ceremony

The University (campus-wide) commencement ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 10:00 AM in the Xfinity Center.  Additional information about the campus-wide commencement ceremony, including ticketing and student call times,  is available on the commencement website: www.commencement.umd.edu.

2.      CCJS Commencement Ceremony

CCJS departmental commencement ceremony will be held Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Cole Student Activities Building.  The departmental ceremony is an open-participation event and tickets will not be required for guest.  Additional information about the departmental ceremony will be emailed and posted to both the CCJS website (http://ccjs.umd.edu/content/graduation-information) and blog (www.umdccjsblogspot.com and www.ccjsusg.blogspot.com) in the coming weeks.  Question about the CCJS departmental ceremony should be sent to: crimevents@umd.edu. 

3.      Graduation Regalia

The University Book Center (UBC) is the official supplier of commencement regalia for UMD with Oak Hall as the official provider.  The UBC, located in the Stamp Student Union, is where you can purchase your graduation cap and gown and diploma frames. You can purchase all your commencement needs March 10, 11, 12 from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM at the Grad Fair, hosted by the UBC. The deadline to purchase regalia is April 3, 2015. After this date, the selection of sizes and hood colors will be limited. Please purchase your regalia during Grad Fair! Note that regalia can also be ordered through the USG book store  by April 3.

Undergraduate students must purchase their regalia from the book center. The following items are required and sold as a package:

·         Cap

·         Gown

·         Departmental hood (Bachelor of Arts hood has a white velvet)

·         Stole of gratitude

·         Tassel with official medallion

Undergraduates that shop during Grad Fair will save 10% on the package price. The undergraduate package will cost $138.98. If you have questions, contact the University Book Center at (301) 314-9231.
