What is an Informational Interview? A networking strategy in which you ask a professional in your field for 15-20 minutes of their time to ask questions about their industry/job How do you find someone to interview? Ask your professors, family, friends if they know anyone working at the organization or in the field you're interested in (Hint: You can also ask me, or someone at the Feller Center/University Career Center) Attend a career event and follow up with the speaker or panelist Utilize Terrapins Connect or LinkedIn (Hint: use the LinkedIn Alumni Tool) What questions do I ask? Send a thank you email/note after your meeting and stay in touch by adding them on LinkedIn and emailing/having follow up conversations periodically
