The Summer Research Initiative (SRI) was created in 1999 by the Office of the Dean in the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences (BSOS). The program is designed to encourage and enhance the diversity of scholars working in the social and behavioral science fields. In that spirit, we are interested in receiving applications to the program from a broad spectrum of students, especially African American, Hispanic/Latino/a/LatinX, American Indian/Alaskan Native, Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander students, as well as all those with research interests related to diverse communities.
The 2022 program will be held Monday, June 6, 2022 - Friday, July 29, 2022. All participants are required to arrive at our College Park campus on Saturday, June 4th for the required 2-day pre-program orientation. The 2022 BSOS SRI will be an in-person experience.
There is a two-step application process consisting of:
- Big Ten Academic Alliance's (BTAA) Summer Research Opportunity Program (SROP) online application
- BSOS SRI Supplemental Application Materials
