A Note from USG Admin.....Pending Temporary Boardwalk Closure

A Note from USG Admin.....

USG Community;
The construction on our new BSE building is progressing and we've reached the stage where it has become necessary to complete the construction on the eastern side of the site. The construction of the remaining boardwalk, placement of retaining walls, new walkways, and final grading is required before the cold weather arrives and restricts activitiesThis is an important and exciting milestone for the project. Unfortunately, this will require the Construction Manager to close the Boardwalk for a few weeks.  Beginning on or about November 5th through the winter break, pedestrians will not be able to use the Boardwalk route to access the main campus.

Pedestrians going to or coming from the Student lot (Lot 1) and the Shady Grove Garage will have to use the asphalt sidewalk that has been built around the perimeter of the construction site. The contractor has taken measures to ensure the existing pathway is safe and will provide directional signage, as required.  Courtesy escorts to parking areas will continue to be provided by Security, upon request. Below is a map of the temporary pedestrian pathway around the site.

It has been exciting to see the building become enclosed and take shape.  We're looking forward to the completion of the boardwalk and landscape improvements. It is an unfortunate necessity to have to temporary close the boardwalk, but once this construction phase is completed the boardwalk will finally be completed.

The actual date of closure and any updates will be provided in the near future.  We appreciate your understanding and patience during this important phase of construction.
