Literacy Internship with the Judge Alexander Williams Jr. Center for Justice, Education, and Ethics

Through the implementation of the Saturday Literacy Enrichment Program (SLEP), the Judge Alexander Williams Jr. Center for Justice, Education, and Ethics seeks to eliminate the literacy gap of emerging children who are functionally illiterate by creating a community in which reading, writing, speaking, listening, and thinking serve as the foundation for life-long learning.

SLEP is a sequential, cumulative, and multi-sensory reading intervention program that will apply the instructional techniques used with students exhibiting specific learning disability to 35 children between the ages of 5 – 8 years-old attending Springhill Lake Elementary School in Greenbelt, Maryland.

The Center is currently accepting applications for SLEP, with the deadline being July 22nd. To apply, please see the SLEP application below with the relevant information about the internship opportunity.
