Nominations for the Linda M. Clement Outstanding Advisor for a Student Organization Award

The University of Maryland values the role that faculty and staff advisors play in the development of student leaders and student organizations.  In support of this important role, I write to invite you to nominate your organization’s advisor for the 2020-21 Linda M. Clement Outstanding Advisor Award for a Student Organization.  The prestigious award is named after the former Vice President for Student Affairs who provided exemplary leadership to the UMD campus community. Her strong support for student organizations is one of her most significant legacies. The 40th Annual University Student Leadership Awards will be celebrated virtually this year. We will honor and acknowledge recipients and finalists during the week of May 2, 2021 via social media and on our University Awards website.

Candidates for this award must be a faculty, staff or graduate student advisor for a registered student organization and the committee is particularly interested in receiving nominations for advisors that serve beyond their job responsibilities.  Outstanding Advisor Award candidates will be judged according to the detailed responses you or others may provide on the nomination form and any other supporting materials.  In addition, please note that nominations must come from a current enrolled University of Maryland undergraduate or graduate student.

Nominations and other supporting materials are due no later than 11:59 p.m., Wednesday, March 31, 2021.  You may find the nomination form at https://terplink.umd.edu/submitter/form/start/470436.  Should you have any questions about the award or the selection process, please do not hesitate to contact me at 301-314-2243 or via email at jcalizo@umd.edu.

Thank you in advance for nominating your advisor for this important award.
