HAPCOA & TSA: Federal Air Marshal Service PAID Internships - Deadline March 31st


The Hispanic American Police Command Officers Association (HAPCOA) has partnered with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for paid internship opportunities for college students. The goal is to expose Latino youth to opportunities within the Federal Government and Law Enforcement fields. 

The Federal Air Marshal Service, the law enforcement arm of the Transportation Security Administration is pleased to announce it is offering (5) paid Summer Internships to Hispanic students attending an accredited institution College/University preferably seeking a degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement or Department of Homeland Security.  The deadline to apply is Thursday, March 31st.

Each applicant MUST possess the following qualifications to apply for the summer internship: 
§ Full-time or part-time student carrying at least 6 credit hours.
§ Maintain at least a 2.0 GPA.
§ U.S. Citizen or U.S. National
§ Must submit a federal government style résumé.
§ Background check will be conducted.


Though this is not a requirement, the intent of the internship is to provide experience directly related to the student’s educational program and career goals. Additionally, the assignments are a means of acquainting students with the mission of TSA/FAMS and assisting them in planning their careers.  Moreover, this opportunity enhances the interns understanding the role this law enforcement organization is tasked with enforcing.  The internships will be in the TSA HQ – DC Area, FAMS HQ- Reston, VA and TSOC-Chantilly, VA.  No housing or per diem is authorized.   At the conclusion of the internship each participant may be noncompetitively converted to a permanent excepted appointment at any time within six months after satisfactory completion of the requirements for their diploma/certificate/degree.

HAPCOA Washington Chapter will make the selections and recommendations for 5 interns.
