TAPS Student Employee Positions

The Transportation & Parking Services Office would like to hire a few students for the upcoming academic year. These student employees will be trained on enforcement and review procedures as well as troubleshooting of minor equipment issues. Here are some additional details of the position:

The Transportation and Parking Services office manages parking at the Universities at Shady Grove. As part of this parking program, we provide enforcement for campus parking lots and garages and we offer an appeals process for individuals who wish to contest parking citations. We are currently hiring a couple student as enforcement officers and citation reviewers.

The ideal student will be thoughtful, fair, and eager to take advantage of a few hours of employment at the Universities at Shady Grove. The student must be available to work up to 5 hours on weekends (either Saturday or Sunday depending on scheduling).

Although we can't know how many hours of work will be available, it is likely that the position will require 5-8 hours of work per week. The time commitment will be a function of how many appeals there are on any given week. The pay rate is $10 per hour and the TAPS office is in Building II.

For those that are interested, please contact Earl Carpenter at ecarpent@umd.edu.
