Howard County PD Crime Analysis Unit – Summer 2019 Internship

The Howard County Police Department is now soliciting expressions of interest for unpaid internship opportunities with the crime analysis workgroup. Applications are now being accepted for one internship opportunity in the summer of 2019. Recently, candidates participating in interviews for current openings, who interviewed well but were not chosen, have been given serious consideration for placement during the following semester or in other areas of our agency.  Students interested in future opportunities are, therefore, advised to consider participating in the upcoming process.

Interested students should express their interest by completing and forwarding the following:  a COVER LETTER (explaining their interest for being considered); and a completed Volunteer Internship Application. Again, students interested in being considered for the 2019 summer semester should respond to this solicitation. A flyer articulating desired knowledge/ skills/ and abilities, expectations, in addition to an application, are provided via attachment.

Please direct your students to drop off the completed paperwork in person, mail, or fax it to:

Howard County Police Department, Police Personnel
Attn: Mr. Scott Scher

3410 Court House Drive, Ellicott City, MD  21043

FAX: (410) 313‐3212

The deadline for submitting completed paperwork is Friday, January 18, 2019. Paperwork received after the stated deadline will not be considered. Once the paperwork is received and reviewed, a determination will be made as to which candidates will be invited to an in-person internship interview. Please feel free to direct any student having specific questions regarding the scope of responsibilities associated with the internship to contact:  Mr. Skip Baylor at email: dbaylor@howardcountymd.gov  or phone: 410-313-3683.

For a copy of the Volunteer Internship Application, please email ccjsusg@umd.edu and Rachel will email it to you. It is too many pages to post here.
