Security Operations Center Monitors - Now Hiring Part-Time Positions!
The Security Operations Center (SOC) is a 24/7 unit within the Technology Services Bureau of the University of Maryland, Department of Public Safety. The SOC is tasked with monitoring the extensive security camera system currently consisting of over 500 cameras that are located both on the interior and exterior of campus buildings, as well as at various locations around the City of College Park.
  • Starting Salary for part-time monitors is $11.50 an hour
  • Evening shifts offer shift differential pay of an extra $1.00 an hour
  • Holiday shifts pay an extra $2.00 an hour incentive pay
  • Student and non-student positions available
  • Flexible hours that work around your schedule
  • Minimum requirement of 16 hours per week (allowed to work up to 40 hours per week if desired)
  • Benefitial experience for Criminology majors & those interested in Law Enforcement Careers

The Police Auxiliary of the University of Maryland Department of Public Safety employs Student Police Aides (SPA's) who are responsible for the delivery of security related services to the University of Maryland campus community. Since 1973, the Police Auxiliary has provided SPA's to members of the community for activities such as socials, major athletic events, and security contracts. The Police Auxiliary contributes toward the overall effectiveness of the University of Maryland Police by utilizing Student Police Aides in place of police officers where practical.
  • Starting Salary of $11.50 an hour and can go as high as $15.00 with promotions
  • Some shifts pay an extra $1.00 an hour
  • Many weekend and night shifts pay an extra $2.00 an hour. Specific shifts may pay an extra $4.00 an hour.
