Apply by Friday for a Virtual Internship This Summer Through the Washington Center

The Washington Center's internship program is offering remote internships this summer.  Due to a partnership with the State of Maryland, UMD  students' program fees are covered.  The program involves a guaranteed internship placement and requires students to also participate in a weekly seminar and professional development activities.

UMD students who take advantage of this opportunity must register for a UMD course. UNIV099 is recommended.  This is a zero credit course, and costs $30 (plus the "mandatory fee.")  It is graded and shows up as a notation on your transcript, but doesn't carry credit.  See: https://careers.umd.edu/students/internships/how-enroll-univ099-internship-seminar
If you wish to earn academic credit for a qualifying internship, you may instead apply through your departmental or BSOS (Kathryn Hopps) internship contact, which is not affordable for most students.

Washington Center has created this page to highlight the new summer format, and help students through next steps.

Apply by Friday, April 17.  If you would like to participate in the virtual program, fill out this form.
