"Smart City Challenge 2021"

 We are writing to share information about an exciting opportunity for students known as the "Smart City Challenge 2021" - a virtual innovation competition launching this Saturday, January 23, 2021. Through this challenge, students work as a part of a team to identify a problem and develop innovative solutions to equity challenges in the greater Washington area. Many diverse, wide-ranging teams will address challenges in a variety of sectors including housing, transportation, health, water, broadband, education, infrastructure, public safety, and more. Students may register as individuals or with others they choose as a part of a team. Individual registrants will be invited to a "networking event" at the beginning of the Challenge in order to identify a problem to address and form a team for the competition.

Participation in this event will provide students with a once in a lifetime team-based experience, opportunities to develop critical skills sought by employers, and opportunities to learn from and gain exposure to many high profile companies in our region.
