Social Innovation Hackathon and Social Impact Fellowship @USG

 The Lab for Entrepreneurship and Transformative Leadership is pleased to announce 2 exciting upcoming programs! These opportunities are open to USG students from any program. No business or entrepreneurship experience required! We hope to engage students who want to sharpen their critical thinking skills, practice leadership and collaboration, and creatively problem solve. We teach skills that help students develop their entrepreneurial mindset which can be applied to any field of interest. 


Social Impact Fellowship
Applications due October 29th, 11:59pm
November 11th-May 10th
$2,000 stipend per fellow

If you are interested in learning more about the world of finance, investing, and supporting socially-conscious businesses, consider applying to become a Social Impact Fellow! Over 6 months, you will meet and learn from real Venture Capitalists about the world of impact investing. During the spring semester, you will follow the student businesses created in IDEA430: Creating your Own Social Venture and practice evaluating businesses and making investing decisions. Work in teams to create an innovative solution to a real world problem! KUSI Global offers this question: "How can we increase visibility and accountability across the organization?" After a round of lightning pitches, students will form teams around the best ideas to develop a solution in just a couple of hours. Then, each team will present their idea to the CEO of KUSI. The top team will win a $5,000 prize! Register at ter.ps/USGHack. (Open to students from any USM institution. No preparation or prior experience required.) Email kzmoda@umd.edu with any questions.
