 Scholarships for Pell Grant Recipients to Study Abroad Virtually and In Person!

Did you know CCJS is sponsoring an education abroad program this summer? Dr. Stickle will be leading students on a trip to Thailand to study human trafficking!  Scholarships are available from CCJS and the Gilman Scholarship for Pell grantees! Are you an undergraduate student, Pell Grant recipient, and U.S. citizen with international interests? You may be eligible to apply for the U.S. State Department’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, which provides up to $5,000! In the last 5 1/2 years, 151 UMD students have won Gilman Scholarships, winning a total of $524,050! 


The deadline to apply for virtual or in-person programs that begin between May 1, 2022 to April 30, 2023, is March 1, 2022.

The National Scholarships Office and the Office of Education Abroad imagine that you may have many questions about the Gilman scholarship and the application process. Please join us to learn about these topics and ask any questions you may have.

Students must be:

·      a U.S. citizen

·      a Pell Grant recipient
