The Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Information Governance and Privacy Office is seeking a junior, senior, or graduate student volunteer for the Summer 2017 semester with the possibility of continuation into the Fall 2017 semester. The student volunteer will work in the Information Governance Division and assist with a variety of duties in forming this new, cutting edge division, including developing a catalog of the agency’s analytical measures around immigration activities, seizures, and back office activities (workforce staffing model, fleet management, facility management).

The ICE OPR Inspections and Detention (IDO) Division is comprised of two units: the Office of Detention Oversight (ODO) and the Management Inspections Unit (MIU). ODO is responsible for conducting compliance inspections at detention facilities. MIU is responsible for performing audits of the Certified Undercover Operations that are conducted by ICE special agents; assessing ICE and law enforcement agency (LEA) partners’ compliance with 287(g) program; and conducting comprehensive and independent reviews of ICE programs and services to ensure that they maintain their operational integrity, efficiency, and effectiveness. As an IDO Intern, you will be responsible for performing a variety of duties related to the daily work of the IDO Division. These include, but are not limited to, assisting and supporting the Division Director and staff in performing administrative operations and activities, handling special projects, assignments and other duties as assigned.
