United States Capitol Police is hiring!

The United States Capitol Police is hiring!

We are adding 200 additional Police Officer positions over the next year and we’re searching for motivated individuals who are looking to begin a career in federal law enforcement. Please review and pass the attached documents to anyone interested.

We are looking to form an ongoing partnership with your institution as we push to achieve our long range hiring needs. If you are a faculty member and are interested in one of our Investigators or Recruiters giving a classroom presentation, please contact us and we will attempt to link you with them when they travel to your area. The presentation would consist of an overview of the U.S. Capitol Police and how we serve and protect the United States Congress. It would also include valuable information on how applicants can succeed in completing the “gauntlet” of a law enforcement hiring process.

Since 1828, we have protected the greatest symbol of democracy – the U.S. Capitol.  What started as one lone watchman hired to “take care of the property of the United States” has grown into a world-class federal law enforcement agency with 2,300 employees. Our mission is to protect and secure Congress so it can fulfill its constitutional and legislative responsibilities in a safe, secure, and open environment, as well as ensure the American public has access to their elected officials. The USCP is responsible for safeguarding the U.S. Capitol, Congressional offices, Members of Congress, Congressional employees, and all visitors who come onto Capitol Grounds – foreign and domestic. Our mission is critical and unique. No other police department in the country provides the range of protection we do in protecting an entire branch of government. The safety and protection of the Legislative Branch of government, and the continuity of our government rests on our shoulders.

To join our team, please visit www.usajobs.gov to view current US Capitol Police vacancies. For additional information regarding the USCP, to include minimum qualifications, please visit our website at www.uscp.gov/careers . Applicants must display the upmost level of integrity, honesty, maturity, and a commitment to serve the public. The USCP offers extensive professional development and training, competitive salaries, and comprehensive benefits.
