Apply Now for Early Childhood Policy Spring Internship with the American Enterprise Institute (with stipend)

Apply Now for Early Childhood Policy Spring Internship with the American Enterprise Institute (with stipend)

 Overview:

AEI’s early childhood team investigates the critical role early childhood plays in human development, especially in strengthening families, advancing opportunity, and breaking the cycle of intergenerational poverty in disadvantaged communities. The team analyzes early childhood programs and policy (e.g. childcare, pre-K, home visiting, etc.), and emphasizes the science of early development as fundamental to good early childhood policy. The internship duties will include research tasks for a forthcoming edited volume on brain development, as well as op-eds, policy briefs, and blog posts. Interns will also assist in editing responsibilities, data collection, and administrative tasks as needed.
The ideal candidate will have a clear interest in early childhood policy, strong research skills, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to multitask among various projects. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a plus.

AEI’s spring 2021 internship program will be conducted fully remotelyThere will be two start dates for the spring program: January 19 and January 25. The program will run for a minimum of 10 weeks, although most interns’ end dates fall around mid-May.

Intern Scholarship Program
In the spring of 2021, AEI will offer up to six intern candidates a $1,000 monthly living stipend as part of a need-based scholarship program. Our hope is to allow students who would not be able to do so without financial assistance to reap the academic, professional, and personal benefits of interning at AEI. Applications will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis until December 11.
