Dear Interested Students,
I hope this email finds you well! Last week was the first interest meeting for the Student Board for the Center for Counseling and Consultation (CCC) at USG. In attendance were Dr. Jonathan Kandell, the Center's Director, Anastassia Sorokina, Emma Earnest, and Blue K.
We concluded at the meeting a couple of points for the end of the year and to help launch the board for Spring 2021.
1) We are still looking for interested students for the Board: Please share the word with your friends, and if they are interested have them email me (Emma Earnest - )..
2) December 18, 2020: Student Board Election
• President• Vice-President• Secretary• Treasurer• Miscellaneous Officers
3) Looking to gain student feedback about USG services in the last weeks of the semester.
• We are thinking about creating an email for feedback• Or hosting a zoom meeting to collect feedback
4) Additionally, we want to let interested students know we are interested in students sharing their specific interests. Some examples of current student interests are:
• developing a family coalition• antiracist coalition• gender equity coalition, etc.,
The Student Board would love help getting the ideas above started. Students are welcome to brainstorm ideas and take the lead on these aspects of the Student Board.
The Board and involved students are here to fulfill our mission of advocating for the mental health of the student body at USG.
5.) The current projects we are working on include:
- Petitioning for a mental health support services information addition to all professor's syllabi.
- Launching a panel of the counselors at the CCC for the Psychology Student Association to talk about their views, training, and interests.
