One for the World UMD - Global Health & Effective Altruism Fellowship!

One for the World UMD - Global Health & Effective Altruism Fellowship!

Did you know that 12,000 children die per day of preventable, poverty-related causes? Poverty is one of the most devastating causes of suffering. One for the World (OFTW) aims to alleviate this by focusing on the most effective charities ("effective altruism").

OFTW UMD is hosting a Global Health & Effective Altruism Fellowship, consisting of three 1-hour sessions about issues that impact those living in extreme poverty and how we can help end tragic and unnecessary suffering through effective giving. Sessions will be hybrid (in-person and Zoom). Sign up to receive the Zoom link and further details!

By participating in the Global Health & Effective Altruism Fellowship, you will:
- Learn about global health and extreme poverty,
- Gain an understanding of the role of human rights in international development,
- Learn about effective altruism as a solution to extreme poverty,
- Be able to highlight your interest in global health on your resume,
- Learn how you can be a part of this movement, meet other students interested in global health, and have the opportunity to join our team!

Please fill out the brief interest form to sign up: https://ter.ps/OFTWfellows!

Any questions? Feel free to email Nathan Boyle at maryland@1fortheworld.org!

P.S. If you're interested in effective altruism, but don't have time, feel free to check out the 1% pledge (ter.ps/OFTW2pager)!
