Here are some summer online course options.  Make sure to take upper level (300 or 400 level) to meet CORE Advanced Study requirement.











SUMMER SESSION I

EDCP 318W: Leadership in the Workplace – online
June 2  – July 13th

This on-line course will use a variety of readings and discussion pieces to have students critically examine these issues and to engage in meaningful dialogues with other students to explore the issues from multiple perspectives and work environments. Students in the course must be employed or intern (full-time or part-time) during the Summer 2014 semester and must have a workplace that they visit on a regular basis, as they will be asked to connect course concepts to actual workplace experiences and will bring in workplace documents to the discussion. Internships may count toward this requirement.

EDCP 318A: Leadership in Film – online
June 2  – July 13th

This course will ask students to watch a number of films (including some documentaries) and connect each of the films to leadership readings and personal experience. Students interesting in learning more about how films can create positive social change should visit filmsforaction.org and participantmedia.com.

SUMMER SESSION I-B

EDCP 220: Introduction to Human Diversity – MtuWThF 8:00am – 10:45am
June 23rd – July 11th

This highly-interactive format focuses on individual and social identities in the U.S., group differences and intergroup relations, systems of privilege and oppression, and advocacy for social justice. Topics will include diversity related to race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, social class, (dis)ability, and religion. Course fulfills CORE requirements in diversity, social/behavioral bases, and interdisciplinary study.

SUMMER SESSION II
