Summer Abroad:
Australia & New Zealand: Intelligence Analysis and Five Eyes Intelligence
Cooperation
We are excited about this program and we're working with our
partners at Macquarie University in Sydney and Massey University in
Wellington to put together an excellent schedule of events! First, we'll
begin online from the US focusing on US intelligence systems, organizations,
and processes. Then we'll look at what we can learn from Canada and the UK
when it comes to intelligence. Two weeks in, we'll pack up and meet in Sydney
to study--in person---the Australian systems and the societal facets that
shape their intelligence system. After about a week, we head to Wellington,
New Zealand to round out the 5th member of the Five-Eyes Intelligence
Alliance. While in country we'll meet with academics and members of the
intelligence communities to better understand these foreign systems and the
importance or influence of this high level alliance on their
intelligence community and national security. We'll also take in the sights
of New Zealand and Australia when we have free time!
The program is designed to be scalable depending on your
background knowledge as a student. This course is offered at the graduate and
undergraduate level together, but we are confident that the topics discussed
will be accessible to students of all levels as long as they are interested in
learning more about the course topics.
More specifics on the program--like dates, costs, specific
activities we're currently working on, and how to apply can be found here.
We hope to see you in Australia!
